Buster is a goofy, lovable 2-year-old Lab mix who has never met a stranger. He greets everyone with a full-body wiggle and the biggest smile you've ever seen on a dog. He's the kind of guy who will lean his whole weight into you for pets and then look up at you like you're his entire world.
He walks well on a leash (with the occasional squirrel detour), knows basic commands like sit, stay, and shake, and is fully house-trained. He's great with kids of all ages and loves playing fetch in the yard. He also gets along great with other dogs and would love a sibling to play with.
Buster's ideal home has a fenced yard and a family that likes to stay active. He'd love someone who takes him on walks, to the park, or even on car rides — he's a great co-pilot.
Buster was surrendered to WCAHS in April 2026 when his previous family had to relocate out of state for work and couldn't bring him along. He came to us healthy, well-socialized, and clearly well-loved. This wasn't a case of neglect — just a tough situation for a family that cared about him deeply.
He adjusted quickly to foster life and has been thriving. He shows no signs of anxiety or behavioral issues from the transition.
Neutered, up to date on all vaccinations including rabies and bordetella
Microchipped
Heartworm negative, on monthly preventative
Mild food allergy: Does best on grain-free kibble. His foster family can share the brand that works well for him.
Sarah & Mike, fostering since April 2026
"Buster has been an absolute joy to foster. He sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep and wakes up every morning like it's the best day of his life."
"He's obsessed with tennis balls and will play fetch until your arm gives out. He also loves to swim — we took him to the lake and he went right in."
"The only thing he does that's even remotely naughty is steal socks from the laundry basket. He doesn't chew them, just carries them around like trophies."
